"One by one
I assemble in my eyes
the lives I know"

Judith Pacht opens her new collection with this line from Salvador Espriu. Then, one by one, poem by poem, she, too, assembles the lives she knows. Her poems bring us a new perspective on the world as we are asked to look inside history, nature, the unexamined life and not turn away from what we see.

Using sensual and incisive imagery she explores her own relationship to poetry through free verse and form. After reading these poems, we may never look at an orange, a falcon, or even those we love in quite the same way again.
